How to Lose Weight the Healthy Way

Everyone wants to lose weight-or at least just those people who are on the heavy side. It seems no surprise that over the years there have been different ways that people have dealt with this type of problem.

There are those who have tried to shed off the excess pounds by turning to the gym for cardiovascular and aerobic exercise while there are those who have put their hope in exercise equipments. But for those other people who think that exercise is not an English word, there is the alternative of dieting.

Diets-most especially weight loss diets-have gained their share of popularity over the years. It has become a fad, has had books written about it, has thousands of people who are currently trying it and in recent years, it has become such a phenomenon that people are actually changing their lives because of it.

There was actually a person who became a guest in the Oprah Winfrey show who lost so much weight by just eating vegetable sandwiches at Subway. Jared Fogle, with much determination and pain, lost around 245 pounds of his original 425 pounds by eating only low-fat Subway sandwiches.

For a full year, he held the cheese and mayonnaise on his sandwiches which is a difficult thing to comprehend for some people. For a certain amount of time, all he ate, for lunch and dinner were veggie sandwiches that were made by Subway. It was such a startling change that when people saw how big his pants were before, they were actually amazed to see that two full-grown men could actually fit in those pants and stand side-by-side.

This is the power of diets and now the phenomenon has caught up with the American public and now holds sway over people who sincerely think that they do have a chance to become a few pounds lighter. Right now, the people who are overweight and obese are thinking: "Forget the two men who’ll be able to fit in my pants after I lose weight, forget the guesting at Oprah. I just want to be able to feel good about myself."

This is the plight of the everyday American who thinks that his or her weight problem is an unending vicious cycle. It is because of the cries of these average people that diets have grown to be very popular in the country. It has changed the lives of people by giving them a new lease on life and a chance to fit in their high school jeans.

For some of the heavier people in existence, they just want to be able to do the everyday things that people take for granted such as ride an amusement park ride or fit in a movie chair. And so the diets have come to the rescue of these unfortunate souls. And for some people like Jared Fogle, diets have essentially given them another chance at living their life the way it’s supposed to be lived.
