Getting To Know The Candida Diet

Many of the diet programs people follow aims to help them lose weight. But there are also other diet regimens that aim to achieve other results other than weight loss. This includes boosting or improving certain functions of the body like the digestive and immune systems  for better health. They may not necessarily lead you to lose weight. It becomes just a secondary effect. It may not always give the same result for everyone following the program. One such diet is the Candida Diet.

The Candida Diet is a low-carbohydrate, low sugar diet that aims to reduce the amount of excess yeast, more specifically Candida Albicans, found in the gut. Too much yeast in the gut is said to be the cause of a number of health issues and conditions aside from promoting infections. The main objective of this diet is to balance the gut bacteria by getting rid of the yeast population.

Problem with Yeast

Candida Albicans is a common type of yeast known to cause infections in humans. While they normally live inside the body as well as on the skin, they can become a problem if their population numbers inside your body grow out of control. An overgrowth can lead to a type of infection more known as candidiasis. An overgrowth of this yeast in the body is also the reason for other conditions such as oral thrush and vaginal yeast infections in women. It can also lead to bowel irregularities, chronic fatigue, and even brain fog.
